'90 LT5 on the 'Bay...
Anyone here put this up? Interesting looking damage to the airhorn, wonder what hit it to cause that? Looks like the car was in a front end collision. One of the fuel lines in the back is dented too, so looks like the engine was shove into the firewall in the accident.
They don't even know how many miles it has, could be 15K could be 150K, bit of a gamble. Probably closer to 100K though at least. Wonder what VIN that engine came out of? Might be able to determine the miles by doing some research off that. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/GM-LT...Q5fAccessories You could probably get it for less than the $5K "Buy it Now" since he has "Best Offer" on.

If I had the cash, I probably would have bought yours already. Then I could drive my ZR-1 while I built the original LT5 into a powerhouse!

From the seller: Engine VIN 1K5200058
I wonder if he mixed up the 2 and 8? The hard TB coolant lines are interesting. |

It's not a prototype motor, it's got the production PCV setup. TomC 'Crabs

Re: '90 LT5 on the 'Bay...
So the really early production LT5's had those hard TB coolant lines? Eric's #004 prototype ZR-1 has those same hard lines. Interesting.

Here's a pic of Eric's #004 pilot car and just behind it is the pic of the back of the eBay motor. Hmmm.... My guess is that the plenum that came with the motor was damaged or lost or whatever, and someone picked up the a slightly damaged prototype plenum to put in it's place. If you look at the top of the plenum you'll see that the secondary vacuum pipes aren't connected nor are they visible in the gaps between the runners. Looking closely on the passenger side, it kinda looks to me like the cam cover emblem is the later style and the cam cover emblem on the drivers side is the early style. This thing is beginning to look a lot like a "Franken-Motor". TomC 'Crabs
