One of the last cars last night was a 95 LT5, 1400 miles, Red / Black and went for $59,400....

Decent price, but thought it might get more.

Don't forget about the 10% vig So someone was willimg to pay 66k for a low mileage ZR1. These bidders must not do their homework. If I was interested in a car I would do some comps if possible. As far as a Z goes it would be easy by just checking the ZR1 Net for sale section. Demps has his car for 50k so why would one go pay 16k more? Glad he paid more then he had to because maybe that will help the guys who are trying to sell their cars.

I will be very interested to read Corvette Market Magazine's take on these sales. Past issues seem to value quality low mileage 90's between 25k to 28k.

Can't imagine having a ZR-1 and not driving it though...unless you have two.
I would ask you to keep a few things in mind. Everybody likes low mileage garage queens that look like new. But if you have a 67 big block restored that has 150,000 miles on it, do you think anybody really cares? No, they love the car and pay big bucks for it.

There will be a day, when ZR-1s will bring good $ regardless of their mileage. They will be the Corvette to own without a doubt down the road. In regards to Corvette Market Magazines and all the others, they typically price high in the market place.

The best option for me has been to drive my car limited mileage each year enjoying it while still keeping mileage fairly low and in new condition. Others will say drive the daylights out of it. Others will say stick it in a garage for 10-20 more years. The last option makes no sense to me. And honestly, I might be missing out on driving my ZR-1 more. However, I'm the kind of owner that likes to have something almost like new, its hard to do that with alot of mileage. I enjoy a few thousand miles and that is enough for me as I have other more common Corvettes to enjoy on a daily basis. If my ZR-1 goes out, it always gets washed each and every time and then it hibernates for 3-4 weeks.

When everyone talks investment or collector its silly. I think one day my Yellow Z will bring good money but here is the deal. I've been in my ZR-1 for the last 8 years. In normal market conditions, I would have doubled my investment and been in the $60-90,000 range. SO as you can see cars are never really investments. They are investments in your passion and you get enjoyment out of them. You can't drive a bank account, IRA, 401k etc.

For example $60,000 invested in 1990 would at least be $240,000 today. So let's say you just sold your 90 even for sticker - $60,000 - you still lost out big time!
