It sure didn't appear to be that bad in the initial shots when the blue C6Z was still down there. Man that's sad

Yeah that is bad. Probably worse then the PPG car which I thought was non-repairable.
Were the doors open on this car when it was displayed or did they get ripped open?

I live 27mi from the sight where a man lost his life when his car was caught up in the pyroclastic flow of Mt. St. Helen. The car has been left there in tact. Maybe that would make a nice NCM exhibit. The squished spider ?

Nah. It needs to be restored even if it's 99% parts from other sources.

I must say it hurts to look at it this way. Reminds me of visiting a sick relative in the hospital.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Paul.

On a serious note, the car "can" be restored. The frame looks to be bent but that's fixable, as well as the windshield frame. Door geometry would need to be evaluated and put back to spec. Once these things are done though, with the mechanical driveline, it's just all cosmetics. I have access to another bare frame for cannibalization. I'm sure GM has folks to do the job right.

It's simply a "process". No different than building a house. Once your foundation is set, the rest is pretty straight forward.

Me thinks the "foundation" got bent in this case. That front end looks squished like it ran into a truck.
How many more down there?
