Question Re: How bad is it at GM

And another thing...i wonder how many of those cars have actual V.I.N. numbers that can be registerd, not that any of them would be driven very much, but...?

This is true and a very good point. I thought they had to crash test so many for a production car. Well if the car never really was a prouction car like the 89 ZR's then what? I bet the ZR2 car is just a production Conv and it has a normal VIN. I thought some of these 89's cars since they never really went into production were suppose to be crushed and not sold to the public. I'm sure there might be some fine print some where but maybe not. This will be one of the best BJ's ever.

I've never heard of the Purple Smash car until now. Other than chrome wheels and custom paint, does it have any unique features or historical value? Thanks.

I'm assuming you've all heard by now that GM is also selling off GM Performance Parts division.

I thought I read the Performance Parts Division was a cash cow for GM; you'd think they would milk it for all its worth.

maybe some stuff was but not the crate engines, i would continuously get into it with guys about that. i KNOW what it costs to build these things & the way i build them it's more than what GM would be selling them for. guys would say ' i can buy a crate engine for so & so ' i'd say have at er'. i'm not working for free, sorry. but on the other hand i'm not declaring chapter 11 anytime soon either. IMO on the whole subject, not that anyone asked, the unions are mostly responsible for sucking the U.S. car manufacturers into this mess, & it is a mess.
