Yes and Yes. I love them. Pete's tune and cam position timing has a nice smooth idle as well. The sound and feel is addicting. Doing the same thing when we build the 427.

Did you dyno before and after? Any idea what kind of power you picked up?

Nope. Never dyno'd. Pete thinks it's in the 510-520HP range. With the 4:10's, it rocks

I'll be buying my stroker crank this Summer and plan to build the motor next Winter. In the mean time, I'm going to have the stroker motor's plenum siamesed and a full port job done to the heads and IH's.

So, if I'm already at 520ish chp I could get up to maybe 540-545 you think?

I'm actually probably closer to 510-515 right now depending on what percentage you use for driveline loss (let's no get started on that again). Either way, you think I could pick up 20-25 chp?

I'm not really the guy to ask. Pete or Marc are the experts. I just pay them for the juice and enjoy the results.

All it takes is $$$$$$

Yeah, not much has changed since the early days of hotrodding. All it takes is money. How fast do you want to go?

ME???? I think you mean Brett's advice. I never get over 100 by accident...unless we're talking about 2nd gear! Otherwise... I ain't sayin!!

How-some-ever, I bought a new helmet and am looking forward to seeing what she'll do in the half mile run in June! I'm at 432 rwhp (see my signature for details) but have a stock TB and muffs (Magnaflow) that choke down from 3" pipe to about 2-1/2" abruptly. I'm chasing 8 hp to get to 440 at the wheels...on stock cams...which I hope makes a statement for the potential of our LT5s, and the DOHC architecture. So porting the TB to 63mm, changing the muffs to the Dynamax, and some other stuff the FBI gang and I are collaborating on...we'll just have to see!

But, I gotta say, if she was sucking 19ยบ air, I might have experienced that "440" mark already. (Seat-of-the-pants would surely testify to that!!)

Paul, you are exactly right...got my references mixed up.

If I had been slowly building my experience base at triple digits on a country 2.3 mile long isolated, no driveways flat and straight road it would be fun to report that 125 to 140 mph is getting much more comfortable and familiar. But then, we all know that's going 85 mph over the state speed limit so that must just be a rich expression of a fantasylife, right?

I'm sure a lot of us will get to interact in Bowling Green from all over and I want to see and hear some of these tuned cars with the power at your disposals. I haven't seen the itinerary yet but I hope there is a part day cruise as part of it when there. Hope so, or a check drive.

The June 1/2 mile in Chicago area I looked at the fliers for and it looks very interesting, there and in another location I think. You are doing it, Paul?

Have someone video it for you if possible. You will be very competitive.

With the 4:10 rear end will it keep you below 150 mph in the 1/2? Any references to compare it to for your own expectations?

I can say that on the hypothetical 2.3 mile stretch mentioned above that it does not seem to take 1/2 mile or much over to get to the speeds I'm fantasizing about and I reference 3:45's and more or less stock lt5 that's just been chipped with Samco hoses and K and N air filter only so you should do way, way better.

Here's the site which you probably know about for the Georgia 1/2 Mile shootouts. wannagofast.com Georgia 1/2 mile shootout fall 2012
http://www.wannagofast.com/events.php

Saw a smattering of LT5's on the video including one of Wayne Hale's two (I think his lingenfelter 415) that ran about 149mph. I think it was his resleeved one, not his twin turbo but can't remember what he told me when I talked to him about it.

Go to www.wannagofast.com and click on results then on any of the dates, I picked Sept., and then there is a button to click on excel spread sheet of the five runs actual results. he's in there at #50 on the listing which is not by speed. His twin turbo is >700 hp and he only turns the boost up in third gear to keep the wheels from spinning off he told me. Fast.
