Not aginst TT , But SC is easy to play with it, I am sure the twin S/C for Lt5 as Randy post in His web, will be made too!

Before year ago, Randy told me the boost will be 5-6 PSI .
Price around $ 6000 -$ 7000 , ohh yea will be cool.
But hey , not bad to make +100 HP for Stock 350 engine .

Now how much $$$ you need to add +100Hp by Stroking your Lt5??
$ 15000 or 20K ?? ask yourself!. and your engine will loss viginity LOL.

I am anxious to hear someone with real world experience with this kit. I have no experience with the rotrex but I used to be heavy into Mustangs with Paxton Novi2K blowers. Biggest limiter on the whole deal (other than CR and shite pistons) was always belt slip. I went from 6 rib serpentine to 8 and then to 10 and thought I had slippage licked. Used all the tricks like manual tension and SC belt VHT. Then moved up to 2" wide cog and gained 8 PSI on same pulley ratio. Cog is the way to go for SC motors but there just aint no room in the LT5. For those with stock CR and 5-6 PSI this kit should really kick.

the rotex is a very efficient blower which doesn't take much to spin so I don't think the belt slip problem will be as bad

the rotex is a bit small and flow limited but will make substantial enough power that hooking it up is the real challenge

anything much above 600 rwhp takes some big balonies to put the power down

even at 500 rwhp I'm more traction limited than I would like

Here's an Excel boost power calculator that I made during the ZR-1 TT development. It correlates very well to the LT5 and the LT1 turbocharged dyno results.

Note that the base hp used is dyno software corrected to std pressure of 14.65 psia (sea level) I have set the actual atmospheric pressure to the same altitude/pressure of 14.65 psi. In the real world, hp results will be less at any altitude above sea level. For example, in Las Vegas, @ 13.5 psi, the "real" base hp is 366.

It should also be noted that this is for a turbocharged engine. crank driven superchargers will vary, but all will consume crank derived hp to create boost, so supercharged hp results will be less than what indicated here for power at varriable boost pressures.

Most important, is the amount of boost that can be safely applied to a stock LT5. My opinion is not more than 5 psig. Even at that, it better be done right & maintained right or head gaskets will fail. All said & done, with a turbocharged, stock LT5 @ 5.0 boost, you're in 415 power neighborhood for a whole lot less money & with stock driveability and a significantly better peak torque curve.

bobl g and pete made up some very cool liners which are specially made to essentially make the lt5 a "closed deck" engine with the proper cooling holes

this was used on bob's new car. although not as strong as the haibeck "block insert" which is very stout, it's an interesting alternative

these two options make a low compression FI LT5 a very interesting project

I'm also interested to see if nelson racing does a billet block they have been doing some custom cnc machining and have dome some interesting projects (albeit all very expensive!)

I defintely disagree that the modern turbo systems are laggy. just the opposite, a belt driven centrifical blower "ramps up" the boost a bit slower than a modern ball bearing turbo system with an efficient design.

the centrifical superchargers make a very nice "linear and progressive" power, the turbos "hit very hard" and the torq curve goes straight up when the boost hits

while it's true the the "old" turbo systems on smaller displacement engines had alot of lag the v8 has quite a bit of exh energy to spool the turbos up very quickly. so quickly in fact that "boost by gear" controllers are a big enhancement to plant the power

like to see what TWO rotex could do on the lt5

wheel to wheel did a built LSX motor in a nova and made some very impressive power, over 1k at the wheels !!

There is a TT car near completion at Corey's shop. I think the completion holdup is the
custom ECM.
