Sorry about all the bad spelling but I was typing on my android phone. One thing, I did find a place called "Foreign car and Corvette Repair" in Margate Florida. I spoke with one of there mechanics and explained what I had. He works on many foreign dohc cars and is not afraid of them but he did say, I have never seen a LT5 in person, I would love to be able to work on one if you bring yours in. That is one thing that scares me the fact that they are going to practice on my car. Eisman Corvette might be able to do some things to a LT5 but they dont have the knowledge of a Haibeck or a Corey Henderson or Aaron Scott. Florida is a place where owning a ZR1 is a scary proposition unless you like to ship your cars all over the place. Like I previously said, thankfully our LT5's dont suffer catastrophic engine failures to frequently so towing cars all over the place wont be such a issue but if you are going to mod then it will be. There are lots of Zr1's in Florida so I am surprised that nobody will take one on and work on them on a steady basis. I dont know what price I will be asking but it wont be much considering how much money has been dumped on this car by the last 3 owners. Whomever winds up with it will have a helluva car.

Maybe you can convince Graham Behan to relocate to Florida to pursue his "retirement".....Bob

I would love it. I do have both cars a z06 and a zr1 and i could keep both but one eould be at another house which i would not like. I am looking forward in not having to worry about logistics anymore. I will let the people know when the oil leak is resolved and what i am asking for it. I am still in yhe process in writing down all the things the 3 owners including myself had done as far as mods etc... The second owner was a doctor eho was best friends at the time with yhe accountant of the old zr1registry so he got lots of work done economically by word of mouth information. I bought the car for 17300 and it needed rins and tires!! I have put at least 10k into it which i will not see so whoever buys this car better wear a mask when they pick it up.

Wow, sorry to hear this. This is why I want to keep mine stock. However I put about $5k in repairs to mine and it would be so much effort and expense to have someone else do the work. It sure helps to be a DIYer and have a mechanical background. Of course the factory service manual was a must and doing research on these forums.

A DIY is great if you can do it. When I bought this car it had many, many thousands of dollars spent on it when I got it. The paint job was 10k by itself!! It ran great but of course, like I do with all my other Corvettes I have had, I start modding more.... I cannot drive a stock car and be happy with it. I drove a stock 91 and I was surprised how slow it was. Unfortunately, I had just been driving my old c5 supercharged car and the 91 z seemed like it was running on 4 cylinders. The mods that I did really improved the car quite a bit. The work was done by Aaron Scott before he went awol and it made it even faster. He refinished the engine, re-ported and completely hogged out the plenum and injector housing and port matched the heads when the housing meets up with it, installed corsa exhaust and removed the flowmasters and installed fidanza flywheel and retuned the chip to take advantage of the free flowing exhaust, it has headers also and no cats. Mods can rack up tremendous bills but it was the logistics that I could no longer deal with. I will be retiring in about 3 or 4 years and I cannot have this logistics problem when I do. I bought a z06 I can fix anywhere and even though it is not exotic like the zr1, its fun and easy to fix. My Zr1 is excellent and will make somebody very, very happy. I have no regrets. It isnt the first time I lost lots of money on a car. If it can only be stock then I'd rather not have it.

I took some pics today with the chrome amolds. The car looks much better with chrome wheels as opposed to stock oem powder coated amold wheels. the 1990 stock wheels do come with the car. I will try to post this weekend some pics. I had my wife take some on my android as I was preparing the car to go to west palm beach to get the oil leak fixed and then it will be put on consignment. sometimes you dont know how nice your car is until you decided to sell it. I did check the paperwork and the paint is 20 years old. Trust me, it looks better than new car paint. Imron is fantastic stuff. th4e first guy that sees it , buys it.
