Note to this post if you upgrade to the Z1-Z3 series also from Pioneer light sanding IS required on lower portion of the radio surround. The Z1-Z3 series is already 4-5 years old. The D1-D3 series about 6 years old.

AVIC411.COM is a wealth of information on these radio installs as well.

When you move to Sirius/XM suggest installing an Antenna cut off switch so you can keep the antenna powered down. I did a post on this mod. I have the exact same rears how did you get those factory grills over them RF grills? Or is the subs now riding where the rear speakers are?

So are you telling me the FM antenna stays up in XM mode?
If so I already had an antenna switch installed, didn't like having it up while listening to the XM through a cassette.
Rear factory speaker grilles are just screwed down to the MDF covering the subs, factory grilles were the only ones used.
