What part #'s and brand did you end up with?

If it were a driveline shop you might have just carried your shafts "downtown", had them install them and confirm balance on at least the "driveshaft"! It certainly could be "money well spent"!!

They are Spicer. I didn't realize the 4 for the half shafts were different than the 2 for the main shaft but they are. I asked for part#2-1310's and 4-1350's in Spicer brand and he said they had 100 of each. How many did I need?

Make a call early in the AM and tell them you want "solid" joints! No fittings! Did you mention "aluminum" shafts? Did they change the application on you after you did?

You see thay really are "everywhere"! Even in Texas!

Well wouldn't the part numbers I gave them tell them everything they needed to know?

Yep your right. There is a difference for aluminum drive shafts. He said the ones for aluminum drive shafts have a special coating on them. So I'm gonna have to take them back today for the right ones. The place is called Randy's drive shafts 713-672-6344 Steve or Mike.

There's "opinions" regarding the joints for aluminum shafts. Some "insist on them" others mention that it's of "minimal concern". Most don't know that there are coated ones available and that is why I mentioned it in my first post.

And no, Spicer is not sold all over the place. I went to four major automotive supply houses and they didn't sell them.
