And what I'm looking for is something like that, a basic wiring harness that would have an ignition switch, starter switch and what ever else necessary for basic engine operation. Couldn't I wire the inst gauges, A/C and other stuff on another circuit? I don't know?

But I want to thank all who have responded and please throw out some other ideas if you have any. Thanks

Really not possible. Everything is interrelated, fuel, spark etc. You can't run that motor without the specific LT-5 ECM. If this was a Gen 1 or 2, you can run with some other aftermarket, or you could even go the
carb route, but not possible with LT-5.

Most aftermarket engine harnesses are what they call a three wire system. You plug in all the connectors to the engine, fans, fuel pumps etc and whats left are three wires. One is always hot, the other is switched on with the ignition and the last is a ground. A/c, instruments, starter are done with another harness like those available from painless wiring. These include a fuse block and everything needed for lights, starter, horn etc.

A FAST XFI can run the engine I building a 90 twin turbo with an automatic for my 69 camaro . If you dont want all the actuators for the second set of ports and such it is actually very easy to do. The fast system can run 16 injectors low or high inpedance. hot roding these engines isnt that hard. Just my .02 worth . Sherbie

Topfuel,

You don't have a CCM to contend with.
