Maybe the reason the Goodyears cost more is because they use more rubber!

315 Sumitomo on the Left. 315 Goodyears on the Right.

Because they aren't as wide you see alot of FBody guys with the 315 Sumitomos on the rear.

They can get the Sumitomo to fit on a ten inch wide rim & it also takes less of the BFH mod on the inner fender.

I have the Goodyears on my stock rims and I bought Sumitomos for a recent track day weekend for my set of A-mold wheels. I couldn't find a full set of Goodyears and figured I would rather use the cheaper Sumis on the track. I have to say they held up really well considering the abuse I gave them.

That says it all for me. Thanks DMark =D> for the first side by side comparison I have seen.

according to my local tire guy,yokohama are still available...they have been good for me,but like a lot of guys here,i have limited experience with other brands,and cant compare...my only complaint is they tend to ''flatspot'' after sitting for awhile,and take forever to get back to round shape.

I hear you, also why the treadwear rating on the goodyears vs the Summos is different. Reminds me of that new Quiznos commerical if your going to pay 5 dollars for a sandwich shouldnt you get one with MO meat? lol

F1 GS-D3 = 280
SUMOs = 160

Has anyone been able to find Goodyear F1 GS-D3s in 315s? Like I said, when I considered an extra set, I couldn't get them.

Everyone tells me that the Goodyears are "back order" which I reckon is better than BF Goodrich saying "no longer in production" for their KDs in 315s.

After the pitiful Brickyard NASCAR race at Indy my bet is Goodyear has more on its mind than making 315s for the Beast.
