Very interested in how the leather wrap turns out, I've thought about that or some sort of similar approach (headliner material, suede/alcantera etc).

On these up-high places I'm not sure that dynomat will have the desired effect, this type of material is very heavy and its main effect is to damp metal resonance. I'm not sure applying to to plastic will do much other than make it heavier. I think some sort of lightweight foam compressed into the areas you're talking about might do more to alleviate random rattles and buzzes.

BTW, I would give a shout to V2V No Flex chassis braces. It clearly reduced the noise in my interior. Not road noise, but much of the niggling little squeaks and rattles from the chassis flexing. Over RxR crossings, I get just a single ?thud? going over them. Now this is with the targa installed. Well worth the money and time.

Good idea. I remember going over railroad tracks with the targa top off and it was like shaking a coffee can full of marbles. My solution? I put the top back on! As to tire/road noise, I think my Dynamat helped but maybe if I had put a double layer on it would have been better. --Bob

For reference, here is the link to purchase that brace:
Vette2Vette 84-96 Corvette C4 No Flex Frame Stiffener Bar System

For some reason Vette2Vette doesn't have photos of the brace installed on a car but MotorTrend does in an article they did on an install of the brace:

I have a X brace from a rag top car in mint condition I was going to install. Thoughts????
I have heard good things about the V2V

I had it installed on my first ZR1 about 30 years ago. OEM X brace is a steel stamping and a bit flimsy. I had a shop in Casselberry, Florida - Corvette Masters - cut a strip of sheet metal and weld it to the open side boxing it in to add strength. And I recall, front have tapped holes on the frame lining up with the X brace but the rear involved a plate with bolt fabricated and welded on to mount the X member. Stiffened the chassis substantially but reduced the clearance a bit.

As said above, depending on goals you may need multiple products. Using the Dynamat brand as an example...

Dynamt Xtreme will reduce rattles/vibrations.

Dynamat DynaPad will reduce heat and road noise.

While many of us do, you don't need to cover the entire interior with Dynamat Xtreme (or similar other brand product) to get a reduction of vibration. Some people just place squares of it in various places and even if an uncovered spot vibrates the nearby squares will absorb it. I'm guilty though as I have my 87's interior covered in it. Haven't reassembled yet to see how it did.
