For those interested, GM's lease program for managers was less expensive than for Ford's managers (where I spent the majority of my career). Ford managers could select their cars and the lease prices basically included insurance. E-rolls would get free cars with gas included. At GM is was different for managers as they could not select their vehicles, paid a nominal price, and only held the car for 6 months. This way the vehicles could be considered test cars and skirt the allowable IRS rules for the implicit value of the lease as income. Given that the ZR-1 in question was held for more than 6 months and that the vehicle was not an early production vehicle (early for 95s, but not early for the engineers for the ZR-1 program as a whole), this vehicle could have been executive vehicle, but it was more likely a pool car, likely in engineering not so much as a test vehicle, but a car that people could drive as a counterpart to the newer Corvettes being produced.

My 94 #0009 was a "captured test fleet car" and delivered tor GM Engineering where it was owned and used for 2 years and 27,000 miles before GM auctioned the car off to a Chevy Dealer.....I have a copy of the original Title which shows GM as the owner....also spoke to Lotus engineer Tim Holland back in 2014 about his PROM chip that is still in my 94....as he was the engineer responsible for the PROM software for the 93...94...and the 95 LT5....
I also checked my Build Sheet and it does not have NAO on it anywhere that I can see...but does have "Charge To and Ship To".....C-P-C Group Engineering on the Build Sheet..... ![]() ![]()

So there were 1994 Brickyard convertibles with an NAO designation.. THERE ARE SEVERAL CLUES TO IDENTIFY A BRICKYARD 400 CORVETTE. ALL WERE CONVERTIBLES, EITHER RED WITH RED INTERIOR OR BLACK WITH BLACK INTERIOR WITH A BUILD DATE ON JUNE OF 1994. BUILD SHEETS OF MOST KNOW CARS HAVE A ?CHARGE-TO? CODE OF 00-502 {NAO CVO-TECH. CENTER} AND A? SHIP-TO? CODE OF 70-847 {C-P-C GROUP C/O QUAL-EFFIC INC.}. THE CARS ARE ALSO IDENTIFIABLE BY VIN THROUGH THE INDY MUSEUM HISTORIAN AS WELL AS BY THE COMPANY THAT SUPPLIED THE ORGINAL BRICKYARD GRAPHICS FOR THE CARS. http://rarevettes.com/94byard.php
