Original 1990 to 1992 injectors have consistently failed due to their inability to hold up to ethanol in modern fuels. The 1993-95 injectors were upgraded by the factory to withstand ethanol corrosion. Original injectors in a 1990-92 car are guaranteed to fail. Buying a car of that vintage with original injectors means about a ~$1000 expense to have them replaced, a bit less if you do it yourself.

But when you consider that these are virgin cars, maybe they won’t need injectors right away. There’s been precious little ethanol through them so far.

AGREED, I just went through this last fall. Picked up a 91' Dark Red on black 1 owner Z w/ 9,600 miles. Took 2 test drives before purchasing. no indications of injector problems. 5 local spins around the block later and it started cutting out up high.

My late fathers 19K mile Quasar 91' Z will get injectors once it gets out here to Colorado as well. It runs after sitting for 12+ years, but barely.

I agree Its not IF but WHEN. I had a set of OEM A-molds but I'm still up to $2500 for injectors, gaskets, seals, fluid change, & tires.

Good news, A/C system still holds a vac!

It’s not a function of mileage or the amount of fuel through them. They have been sitting bathed in ethanol fuel for 20+ years, driven or not. If they have not gone bad already they will and probably at a time when you least want it.

I’m not a fan of green cars, ( all right, the Brits get a pass), but when searching for my ZR-1 24yrs. ago I almost bought a green Z . When I met the owner for a test drive, I liked the colors, green/ saddle, but I was shocked to see that he had the ZR-1 “slash” logo, in six inch tall letters, stenciled in GOLD on the middle of both doors! Despite that, I took it for a test ride, only to find that the car was not running at full power no matter which position the valet key was in. The clueless owner didn’t know anything was wrong, and got pissed when I told him that “ My regular L98 is faster than this!”
The situation deteriorated from there, and no deal could be made, but my wife and I laughed all the way home.
Whenever I see a green one, I try to think of Pete’s car, not the “slowest ZR-1 I ever rode in”.

that picture you posted is Tan not Saddle. While I personally don't care for some of the color combinations, Richard was not stating he did not like someones car, but he does not like Green with Saddle.

if the car looks good and is a color I don't like, I will still comment that it does look nice.

I don't like our cars where the exterior and interior are the same, personal preference, however that does not mean they don't look good when I see them, I just would not want that color combination myself.

IN fact, my 1990 was built Black/Flame Red interior, when I got it someone had swapped everything to Black, I then changed it to 93-up Torch Red, as I like to have variation in the color
