I hope you can track your Bose problems down....I hear they are great sound systems. Mine never has worked. I replaced all the amps with Bose amps, just need to send off my head unit for repairs. But I echo the comments about never using the radio. When an engine sounds that glorious, why even bother lol.

I'm taking a different route. Pioneer AVH 4200NEX. BT, detachable face, Sirius, Apple Car Play and the works. I rarely listen to the stereo but when I'm on a road trip I want Navi which I can use through Car Play.

Swapping out the amps is a fairly easy task. I had to change out three of mine and the Bose sounds great! Yes it's 1990's technology, but sound is solid and rocks when you load it up with some Joe Walsh or Bryan Adams!!

Ya oughta hear her thru rebuilt amps! (better yet, in person!)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MvbWtmKVCRs&sns=em Besides that, there's sort of a Corvette connection here, Cliff Goodwin her lead guitar player is a spokesman for Bose... Last edited by Mystic ZR-1; 11-22-2016 at 04:03 PM. Reason: . |

Well, if you sorted out the CDM vs tape deck audio stream, you are probably down to 3 bad amps. The early Bose amps all had bad capacitors so it is par for the course that AT LEAST half the amps don't work.
I have fixed amps, then gone the junkyard nissan amp route for lunch money. No way I'd pay $150 for a new one. You are almost there- it will sound good once you take the time to pull the speakers out of the carpeting and swap parts. |
