We were in the N Georgia mountains from Fri until this AM ... lots of rain, some wind, and localized flash flooding in lower areas. Streams were swollen and the normally picturesque water falls around the area were very angry looking. Went to Asheville this morning to visit relatives ... the French Broad river was at flood stage with a bunch of flooding in lower areas. Came back home via I-26 to Columbia SC and then west on I-20 to Augusta ... Columbia was shut down and under curfew due to water supply for entire area being contaminated. Watching early news now about all the area school closings and other problems. Saw photos of caskets floating out of cemeteries in Orangeburg SC.

Too much rain + slow moving system = big disaster
