You don't need to throw a bunch of money at this one. All you need to do is add a half gallon of denatured alcohol to half full tank of gas and take it for a few wide open throttle runs before taking it to the inspection station.

I have headers, bullet cats, and full B&B exhaust. I have a Haibeck performance chip but I always replace it with the stock chip before testing and my car barely passes...but it passes

You should smell me after eating Hobenaro chicken. Smells like propane. And burns twice.

Look at it this way. It could be worse.
You could be in Kalifornia.

Is the CAGS pulled in?

Denatured Alcohol lowered the Nox a lot...but raised my HC's to the point I failed the retest.

The tech tried a few different tricks with the machine and ran it again at higher RPM and I just barely passed on my 3rd try.

He said this time it was running too lean. He did the final test with only one tailpipe probed. Not sure if that was ok or not. Even still...the car has an x-pipe so both sides should read the same.

Anyway, I'm now good for another year!

I'm curious, did you run it with the skip shift disabled? I'm pretty sure it will test better with it enabled and with the tech running the higher speed test in 4th gear.

low RPM is where my car is having issues...as the RPM's come up the HC's and Nox go down.
