Re: FS: Gen I Dymags
Thank You for the picture! One last question, Did the original Dymag wheel have the DYMAG or CORVETTE cast in lettering painted or somehow otherwise colored a contrasting color?

Not that I know of. All of the ones on the B2K's that I have seen that were "original" never had contrasting color. Bump still have the Dymags!!! Daniel |

Re: FS: Gen I Dymags
I have never seen the wording painted and I've owned several sets. Lee (LGaff) has owned more sets than I have and would be a good source.

I think its was just the shading effect caused by it being recessed lettering

Re: FS: Gen I Dymags
[QUOTE=Daniel_Mc;140677]Hey guys I have a set of refinished NEVER MOUNTED set of 4 Dymag wheels (2 fronts, 2 rears). The fronts are 17 by 9.5 with the "Dymag" and "Corvette" lettering. The fronts have provisions for center caps and the Dymag brake coolers. The rears are 17 by 11 (ZR-1 offset) with provisions for center caps and no markings. The wheels will come with both sets of caps. The wheels were refinished by Ye Ole Wheel Shop in MD in the correct Dymag paint code. Since being refinished the wheels have never been mounted on a car or even had tires mounted. I picked them up for the ZR-1 and they will not clear the AP Racing Brakes and do not clear the Wilwoods on the 89.
5,000.00 plus shipping Rears: Fronts: Covers (small): Good afternoon Daniel, I have just registered for the ZR-1 Registry and am inquiring about the Dymag SMALL Center Cap Covers that you have posted. Do you still have these? I purchased a 1986 Convertible about 4-months ago, that has a set of (4) Dymag Wheels mounted (16 x 9.5) and I have been looking for center caps ever since. I have been told that these wheels came off a a 1987 Callaway SCCA Challenge car. The wheel bore is 2 3/8", and there are 5 drilled and tapped holes where probably some sort of brake cooler was installed. The dimension between two adjacent of these holes is 1 7/8" and they were tapped for M6 (metric) bolts. (Photo attached). What is the outer diameter of these caps, and if they snap in, what is the diameter of the clips on the rear. (outside measurement from one clip to the opposite clip). I am wondering if these small caps would fit, and if so what price? Thanks for your prompt response. Dave Kalling (dkalling@sbcglobal.net) |
