JMHO. knowing that an LMP car is a rules dictated platform, basically they are all the same save how your aerodynamic engineers determine small stuff to control air flow, this is a very inexpensive way to just get the brand name out in view for the TV time. They spend so much time with the camera on the LMP cars that unless the 4 or 3 is actually on the podium overall they get little air time for the huge dollar investment.
There have always been LMP cars using the LSx as a starting point for power, but unless you saw the bow tie emblem on the C-pillar GM wasn't getting much exposure on TV. I think this is a good move for the investment costs if you look at the TV air time that you get for the money. JMHO. Tom
