Re: $12000 1990 LPE ZR1
Why buy this car for 12k than invest another 20K to 25K to make a 250,000 mile car nice. By a 50K mile car for 16K to 20K send it to LPE for the 368 another 15K you have the same money invested with 200,000 less miles. Just my opinion.
I truly believe there are only 2 kinds of corvette owners, Those that appreciate what they own, and those that think it is only a car. Last edited by cvette98pacecar; 05-30-2011 at 10:06 PM. |

Re: $12000 1990 LPE ZR1
Shelby's are are going for crazy money and I believe part of the motivation is similar to buyers of fine art. The work is worth more after the artist has passed. People figure Carroll is not long for this Earth and his cars will appreciate after he is gone. Lingenfelter is unfortunately already passed and a
Lingenfelter he built isn't the same thing as one built now, IMO. I wouldn't disagree with your logic from a $ and cents POV, but it wouldn't be an "authentic" Lingenfelter. |

I would love to have the space to buy this car and store it for parts. As all of our ZR-1 keep getting older it is harder and harder to gets parts. Heck the windshield and engine alone are worth the cost. |

Re: $12000 1990 LPE ZR1
I think we're all here just giving our opinions. Neither side of the argument is necessarily correct. Just our point of view. And mine is that when the ZR-1 finally gets the appreciation and respect it deserves, an LPE car built during the time that JL actually ran the firm will have the cache demanding higher value, in my opinion.

Re: $12000 1990 LPE ZR1
I am very happy with the Ligenfelter 368 ZR-1 that I bought last month.
Has anybody looked at the car that is for sale? For the price, someone could get a high performance, fun to drive, ZR-1. Jim |

Re: $12000 1990 LPE ZR1
It's a car that could be nice with cosmetics but it would take someone who can do the work themselves and wanted the LPE distinction. Never going to be a money maker (with those miles) but would probably be a decent car with a 368 for someone to enjoy with some elbow grease.
