I agree it is a great feeling that LT5 is something else. I will be doing this also in a few months and i am sure i will asking you some question along the way.. ....if you don't mind. The part that scares me right now is the timing of the motor. I just print out all of your write ups just in case i can't find the post in the future.

I was in heaven today as I replaced my calibration pack (prom) with the correct tune for my build and started it up. It was only a short time to fuel it after the battery charge and it sounds awesome with SGC Stage 1 camshafts. Marc H put the idle up slightly too due to my fidanza flywheel and it is just right so I don't hear that rattle........he is an artist with our LT5s.

Sure, I don't mind but there surely are tons of others that you would be much better off consulting with. The timing of the motor is quite easy after the first time, but you definitely don't want to attempt it alone and I even did it a second time with the motor in the car (I highly discourage it, even though I did it) after I has some issues from another source......long story. Thanks to all the folks sharing those fact sheets on Registry even I was able to do it and you will be able too. You will just do like me and be paranoid to check everything several times. I can't remember how many times the motor was turned over to confirm my timing settings after degreeing it them in.

Best wishes!!!

Craig

Your blog would be a great reference as consecutive posts on this forum if for no other reason the quality photos are often self explanatory

Have a great day Craig....and thanks for your contributions to this Forum.
Cliff,

Thanks for your kind words and thoughts as always. I appreciate it and for those that don't know, Cliff wanted me to share those posts in my Yahoo Japan blog a long time ago and I was against it even if it is public information. I guess in time I have thought if it can help someone that is just great. Sometimes the most information can come from those who we think know the least. I think it was just a matter of someone wanting to share since many that do have the knowledge just don't have the time to or desire to. I also think that the only reason why I posted there versus elsewhere is no one gives me crap or negative comments. You my friend, have made so many more contributions than me in the short time you have been with the Registry so my hats off and salute to you. I wish I was as smart as you.

Boy, when I look back at that time I wonder how I found the time to post all of that? I am glad I did because I have already had to go back and use it as reference since I have such a short memory.....

Take care,

Craig
