I posted a similar question in December. I am using them and dynoed at 342.5hp at the wheels with E3's, Royal Purple 10w-30, Cut air lid, stock chip and resonator and that's it. Not sure if they helped but they certainly didn't hurt

The LT5 "waste-spark" DIS needs a double-platinum tipped plug, otherwise the durability advantage of a set of plats is negated. Four of the plugs in an LT5 fire with reverse-polarity. Electrode errosion goes the way of current flow. For that reason, to get the durability benefit of plats in an LT5, you need double plats. Use a single tip plat in an LT5 and you need to understand that the durability of the set of plugs will be no better than that of non-plat. plugs.

You would get better results by making sure you had the right heat range plug.

Hopefully they will continue to work great for you

It's the same with Royal Purple. Hib did an article on it awhile back. Most say its decent oil at best, certainly not worth it for the premium. They also say that on bobistheoilguy website.
LoL yea I'm definitely open minded when it comes to this stuff. It seems I do the opposite of what is the norm: E3's, Royal Purple, 4.30 gears...Let's hope she puts down some good ET's at the track this spring

with your 430 gears, please dont try to go to the strip with street tires , you will just fry the tires. get an extra set of rims and get some good drag radials . i like the new nitto nto5rs, hoosier also makes a good drag radial. i didnt have much luck with the mickeys . also installing a line lock will help you get a good burn out .jmho

I agree. I am actually looking at a set of Hoosiers My biggest fear is losing control at the track and slamming into a wall

Double plats? Interesting.

I may be alone here, but because changing plugs in the LT5 is so easy that any DIY'er can do it in a few minutes, AND the standard plugs will remain in fresh condition for more than 10k miles (about 3 driving seasons for the way I drive), AND one can buy 3 sets of standard plugs for about the price of a tank of 93 octane (these days), I can afford to drive on fresh plugs "forever".

Or, think of it this way: The life of a plug starts out at the top of it's performance, and insidiously works it's way down to "bad". With plat plugs, this happens over a longer period of time, i.e., longer period of less than new performance.

So! Fresh season! Fresh plugs! Live long and prosper!

you shouldnt have a problem as long as you keep your tire pressures above 18-19, i found that the drag radials get squirrly on the big end if i go lower. the key to getting a decent launch is doing a decent burnout . i am putting a linelock in my cars so i dont have to do the pop the clutch and get on the brake deal to do a burn out too hard for this old fella to get right . ranger on the corvette forum has some great hints on taking a vet to the strip .i have the new nitto nto5r drag radials and really like them they are alot more stable than the mickey were for me .jmho

oh ps .before you go to the strip i would really ck or just replace the ujoints on your 1/2 shafts dennys drive shafts have a great ujoint kit for our cars they are the very high grade 799 series spicer series u joints . i wouldnt use anything else on them as ujoint failure can really mess stuff up big time
