Has anyone experienced any issues with vapor locking?
I think in the next week or two I am going to order injectors. We have had the car since 94 and to my knowledge have never been replaced. When we replaced the plugs a few weeks ago there were two... and I don't recall off the top of my head which cylinders it was, that were running pretty hot. While I am at it, will change the filters as well. A few years ago I replaced the vacuum pump. Can someone give me an idea of when this thing should come on? I am wondering if this thing has gone bad again also? Can someone shoot me a link to Kurt or Jerry for the gaskets. Finally, do you know of anyone that sells a total package for injectors, coil packs, gaskets, vacuum hoses etc.? I would love to do all this myself, I just don't know if time will permit. If anyone has suggestions for someone in TN that works on these cars I wold appreciate it. Thanks. |

The vacuum pump should turn on with the key turned to ON, and run for about 5 seconds, at which point it should turn off. If it doesn't run at all, there's a problem with the wiring or the pump. If it runs continuously, then there's a vacuum leak somewhere under the plenum, most likely.

Jim,
What's the best avenue of approach from a diagnostic stand point? Would you test fuel pressure first? Check resistance on the injectors first? Could be the plugs I suppose... Doc |
