Pete, you are the cam guy, but aren't you going to kill torque and low/mid range performance with a stage III cam set-up and ONLY 350 cubes ? I thought big cams were for strokers.

Well here is my theory and research..

I know a smaller exhaust cam helps for low end power.
I will not be installing the Stage III exhaust cams instead i will go with smaller exhaust cams.

Another factor is cam timing.

I will find out what happens it won't be the first time i take my motor out for trial & error.
Worse case i will have to pull the motor back out to put the smaller cams back in or Stage III intakes make more power and stay in.

Basicly if i loose 10rwtq at low RPM but gain 20 on the big end they are staying in,right now i make around 340 RWTQ @ 3k rpm if it drops to 330 @ 3k and gains 20 RWHP at 6900rpm i can live with that

Are you going to regrind the exhaust cams or put your current intake cams on the exhaust side?

I would not go any bigger then .230 exhaust cam with a .242 intake.
My Intake cams are .236.

Pete, i agree, 12 to 15 degree split is about what is called for with our port characteristics. Are all the Stage 3's really 242? I thought some of the LPE stage 3's were 239 duration/.445 lift.

Todd, you trying to give me a heart attack.

I thought SGC Stage III's were all .242 .450
LPE's Stage III/C cams were .239 .445

I always check my cams before install.

Sorry, man. I didn't even see SGC in the thread title. Was focused in on Stage III. I agree with what you posted, that's how I remember it.
