Default WMD - Clutch Work - 5 September in Westminster, MD

Hello from Westminster.

What a great weekend at Carlisle! We had 17 WAZOO ZR-1's at the show.

There will be a Westminster Maintenance Day on Sunday, 5 September.

Scheduled work so far is to replace the slipping clutch in Yun's 1994 and then troubleshoot and repair/replace the clutch in my 1993.

So it looks like two transmission pulls on the same day.

Come on by for the fun!!!

If anyone has any maintenance items they want to tackle, come on over.

We will be getting started early, 0730 (7:30AM).

If you need directions, give me a call.

I agree that Carlisle was a GREAT time and the WAZOO fellers were well represented.
I will be there at 0730 & I don't think 2 trans pulls in 1 day will be a problem at all!

I agree. Although for only a day for me, I had a great time.
What is happening to your tranny, Jim?
Will sort it out I am sure!
See you boys.

Yun, The clutch on my 1994 failed. Symptoms are pedal went to the floor like a clutch fluid leak. Upon refill of the resovoir, the clutch pedal has no movement. Probobly a broken fork or throwout bearing. We will see.

I can't stay too long, my niece has a b'day party at noon. But I'll be heading out in a bit to see some clutches!

WMD was a success. We finished Yun's clutch repalcement by 3 PM and then replaced the throwout bearing in my car in 2 1/2 hours.

Both cars running great!

And my throwout bearing and tranny sounds like, dare I say, German - no rattle!!!
Thank you Jim for hosting and tech and muscle support, David for logistics (pizza, reminding me not to walk out the car while on the lift, etc...) and Darrin for "nut busting" in more ways than one.
Driving back home, I was having a brief moment of triumphant feeling when the Z turned on "service selective ride control" light although we never even went near the system just to remind me who the boss was. Stop, ignition off, restart/reboot and all's well.

OK, I have pictures. Just didn't get them posted last night.

First of all Let me add my THANKS to David and Darrin for their hard work. Yun and I both appreciate it.

Here is Darrin bolting up Yun's clutch:

Here is a neat view of the Full Power Key that you don't get to see very often:

Thanks to Don for bringing his beautiful GTO and Bob for dropping by (1.5 hour drive!):

And of course, the money shot:

Great time, good pizza, refreshing beverages, and two repaired clutches. It doesn't get any better than this!

Jim
