I drove Robs beast today.
Rob stopped by my work today. I knew it was him because those headers sounded awesome. He tossed me the keys and said tell me what you think. I'm gonna be brutally honest. The headers looked great and sounded fantastic. This 93 ZR-1 only has 32k miles on it. At 410rwhp 4:10 rear gears and a B&B exhaust I was expecting something more impressive than what I experienced. I mean really. My car accelerates more violently than that with less HP and stock gearing. Even Brads 92 white Z that dynoed at 395 with 3.92 rear gears that I drove accelerated as violently as mine accept even more violent. I didn't want to burst his bubble cuz he was very impressed with it so I didn't tell him what I really thought. He also had a vibration in the rear he wanted Corey to look at but the vibration was still there after he left Coreys so I told him to check the drive shaft orientation. There should be a yellow paint mark on the drive shaft and one on the yoke. He checked and said sure enough it was 180 degrees out. The guys that installed his 4:10 gears installed it out. He rotated it back around and no more vibration. As far as the power goes! I just don't know.

Re: I drove Robs beast today.
could it have been heat soaked? Where is the air intake temp sendor located?
If it is in the stock location then could be the plenum area was too hot while parked after a drive. Mine does that. Else if it was a cold car and cool day then ???? dunno. Maybe secondaries not kicking in? Let him drive yours and let him in on it.

Re: I drove Robs beast today.
Even when it's up around 100 degrees 80% humidity the heat doesn't seem to effect the power much at all on mine. But my open air temp sensor has been relocated to the front of the car which is supposed to be good for maybe 10hp. His secondaries are working. He's one of those guys that likes to drive around with full engine power off. So when I first hit it I realized it was off and turned it on and could feel the difference so they are working.

Re: I drove Robs beast today.
Our ZR1's and the women in our lives share many similar characteristics.
While they all have the same accessories, each one is a little different. Each and every one of them have their own individual personalities, quirks, kinks & bends. Some are bigger here or smaller there. Some are wild, some are tame. Some will get you there quick, others take a little while longer. It's all good. TomC 'Crabs

Point is that what you are "feeling" may not be what is happening in acceleration. |

Re: I drove Robs beast today.
In other words bb62 is saying that you need your "butt dyno" calibrated

Re: I drove Robs beast today.
It could be perception I guess. When we both hit the drag strip together then we will see. The #'s dictate that he should kill me at the drag strip.
