Default Re: 90-92 windshield on Ebay

Please forgive my saying this but I think Z Factor did some checking into this not long ago...I remember seeing it somewhere here. If I find the thread I'll speak up.

The long & short of the thread was that it would be cost prohibitive; unless 2 or so thousand dollars per windshield is not considered too much money for a windshield?

Another member, phrogs, found something from a place called "safelite" they are a chain type shop. I went to their site but I never actually saw an example of their glass & I don't know who made it for them. I don't remember the pricing but it didn't seem excessive to me. I was almost going to order one so I could actually look at it & compare it to the one on my Z. I never did as I don't have the room to store it. I am just going by what I found on their web site and I did a "local safelite search" to see if a dealer close to me had one in stock. The results of the search did not actually indicate that my "local" safelite shop actually had one. I rather thought that a near by warehouse had the item because in the "schedule an appointment" box it listed the available appointment times as "today". Their "local dealer" is close to me, like 10 mins away.

I guess I should have followed up on this. Sorry to be so long on this. I just thought this info might help get a starting point for your search??

That's what these NOS ones go for though, and you pretty much know they won't last forever before they start to delam. So if you could get a quality replacement with the same film/abilities for the same price, but it would last essentially a lifetime, that would seem to me to be a no-brainer (unless NCRS is a factor for you).

My windsheild is perfect so far, it was changed in 1999 by the previous owner he was paranoid about the delam. I would also buy one for future use.
