When I had my wheels balanced, the mechanic (who was experienced with vettes) used 2 floor jacks. He placed one each under the jack points on one side and pumped them up at the same time, lifting both tires off the ground. He also popped the hood, rear hatch and both doors prior to lifting so as not to spring them. When he was finished on one side he repeated on the other. It worked fine. The doors, hood and hatch returned to normal. I think that as long as you lift either side or front and back you will be ok. Avoid lifting corners one at a time, this might twist the car.
