Anybody need an ash tray door repainted?
Ive got the paint, cost is $35 plus you pay shipping both ways.Heres one I just repainted, came out lookin like new.Was garbage when I got it.The one on the left is one I took out of my car,the repainted piece is on the right.I compared the repainted piece with 2 new pieces I have and the color was close, not dead on but with some tinting of the paint could get it almost dead on.[IMG][/IMG]

Hmmm...is it a match? close match? in the ball field match? to the rest of the console color?

Re: Anybody need an ash tray door repainted?
I had to tone the paint down to get it to match but at some point I had to stop putting paint on it and call it done.I checked this against the interior of my car,2 new parts,3 dark greys in all and not any 2 matched. If I did this again I would want the shifter plate to get as close as possible.Im only offering this on the door because some have the sticker on it and want it removed.

Rubbery stuff is/was called 'Dulso'. Some info on the stuff on the regular C-4 forums that are around.

Re: Anybody need an ash tray door repainted?
I bought paint for my 90 from CC. It is textured, I guess it has /is supposed to be "rubberized".
The color match was fairly close. I did a few real light coats and waited for it to flash so you could get a sense of what the finished color would turn out to be. I found that you had to balance the number of light coats to get the color and texture as close as possible. Maybe if I had done something different the color and the texture would have come out "exact". I settled for the color and gave a bit away on the texture.
