Default ZR-1 Plug Wires

I am considerig changing my coils and plug wires since I am unsure how long they have been on the car. For those who have done this, did you go with very pricy and tough to find AC Delco LT5 labeled plug wires or with another brand?

Wires with the LT5 stamped on them are very hard to come by...and if you find a set you are going to pay around $300+ for them. It's not the LT5 stamped on them that make them the best performing or even the only replacement wires recommended. There are several sets available that will do the job. The same goes for the coils...there are other suitable substitutes.

SC,

I put a set of MSD 8.5s on mine along with MSD coils. Did that last year and I am very pleased with how they are working. If you're interested I have a set of OEM LT-5 wires (pre-owned) but in nice shape.

I would go with the AC Deleco replacement wires. They can be had in the $40's and they are identical to stock except the white lettering.

The market price on the OEM the spark plug wires now is definitely over $350. The last few sets I've seen sell on ebay were like $425 and $450.

Yeah, a major ZR-1 parts company on the Internet is asking $490.00 +shipping. That's a lot for plug wires unless you are doing the NCRS thing.

Talking Re: ZR-1 Plug Wires

You can go with the replacement AC Delco wires and new delco coils. PM Jeffvette, he usually stocks these and pricing is very reasonable.

Id like to have a set of the originals but wouldnt even pay half of what these guys want for them. Its just a matter of time until the aftermarket starts making these. The AC Delco replacements work just fine.
