Default 91' ZR1 BLACK MOTOR CAR FOR SALE VERY RARE

This car has it all, full 6 point cage, Black motor, Ap racing calipers, fully adjustable suspension, 2 pc.14"rear dymag wheels, 12" fronts, This car was professionally built, originally thought to be built by Doug Rippie. We now believe the car was built by Kim Baker before Doug Rippies black motors were built. We contacted Doug about the car to try to get more info, he told us this is not his car. We had this car listed on ebay as a Black Widow car. This is not a Black Widow car, it seems it is even rarer than that. This car has foam inside the frame of the car. It has a switch on the console to engage the extra injectors.

We have all the service records on the car, We have an old appraisal saying this is a Kim Baker/ Dieline racing built car. We are still trying to find the original documentation on the car, where exactly it came from and when. We think it is one of the very first Black motor cars ever built if not the first one.

Now what we know:
Engine:
upperand lower intake plenum ported and polished
cylinder heads ported and polished
camshafts degreed
modified induction
DRM-500 PROM CHIP with Red Checkered Flag
Watson Big Tube Headers-3"Exhaust
Fidanza Flywheel and Center Force Clutch
CHASSIS:
6 Point Rollcage
Frame Stiffened
Suspension Lowered and Calibrated
Polyurethane Bushings
Brakes:
A.P. Racing Calipers
A.P. Racing Rotors 2pc 14" Front 12" Rear
Stainless Steel Lines and Braided Hoses
Adjustable brake pressure valve
Wheels and Tires:
DYMAG Magnesium Wheels
Fronts 12" wide
Rears 14" Wide
Tires Michelin Pilot Sports
315/35/17 fronts
335/35/17 rears

There is much more I can't list it all, and obviously don't know it all.
I am not the owner of this car, I will give the owners contact info, he has much more knowledge of ZR1's than I do. The car is number #1639

This car is a steal at $26K

Thanks I will answer as many questions as I can, We are still putting calls into Dieline and trying to find a new number for Kim Baker Racing. I have pictures I will post as soon as I get back on some hispeed.

The owner purchased this car around then, If you look at the Kim Baker information it also has a 6500 circled on it? What a coincidence?

I checked what this ad says to what the service records state, The owner of this car after Jay Grundyke ( I have info saying the car was owned by Dieline Racing) Was Bill H***** of MI. The mileage of the car all is in order compared to the service records we have with the car, including the mileage with the previous ad for sale you posted from 2001. The receipts also indicated that the car was painted while Dieline had the car. Most of the cars that Kim baker Raced were white cars. I think this is the car you posted. There are some slight differences, The coil overs were removed, and The mufflers was slightly changed. This car was driven and maintained by the wife of Bill, she had complained that the car was too loud.

This is very interesting chasing the history of this car, Somebody should buy this car, its a steal and very rare. The owner that has the car now has never plated the car. Its been garaged, and only driven on nice summer days.

Thanks

WOW, what a treasure and interesting search you have. Following is my "Black Widow" info, all of this happening in 1993.about the same time frame you are working in. Maybe some of this info and the names will help you. I'd appreciate it if you would send me any info that will update or improve the accuracy of my info...Thanks, Bill

Total quantity was 8:

# 1 1991 White/Steel Blue car #1.David Harrington dotpro@flash.net
was the first Black Widow car stamped #1 1991white/blue. vin 843. Took (NEW)delivery Oct. 31, 1990 Russell Chev. here in N. Little Rock. Doug picked my
car up in Memphis, TN Feb 15th 1993. Doug Rippie was not qualified at the time to
work on the LT5 so they were dismantled and sent to MerCruiser for the head
work etc., painted black and sent back to Doug for reassembly and any other
mods a person wanted i.e. coil over suspension. exhaust, headers, etc.

# 2 1991 Black car #2, VIN #757 is the only 525hp option ZR.
Steve Wait originally had car #2. It was actually delivered before
Dave Harrington’s because Steve had a race to go to. Doug R reworked his several times
after it came back from MerCruiser. Steve worked at Gwatney
Chev. in Jacksonville, AR His car was sold a number of
years ago to a collector in Pittsburgh, PA.
Last known owner was George Crouse

# 4 1993 40th Anniversary, VIN #153, Black Widow Actually car #4, ZR1 #153 the only 40th, was first owned by a gentleman from Florida. According to "Heart of the Beast. pg 174" and "Corvette Milestones". It was owned by Jerry Crew
Last known owner was Frank Kafoure, Indianapolis, IN If my memory serves me correctly Black Widow #4 is #153.

# 8 1991 White, VIN #1119, Black Widow #8 The engines didn't have any markings other than the unique black crinkle paint but Rippie did put everyone's initials on all the parts they took off. I’ve got a green "JVD" on the inner fender, ps pump, ignition module, etc. I left all the stuff on them even when I rebuilt the thing to get it right....about 40 more hp...! Jvd #8 Black Widow (the last one) Jim Van Dorn

1990 Black unknown
1991 Black unknown ********only other '91 Black one*******
1992 Red unknown
