Re: Lt-5 singing !
Damn!! Those videos were awesome! Thanks for posting. Everytime I hear an LT5 turning high rpms like that, makes me wish my Z was running so I could do the same!
Makes me realize what a special engine the LT5 is. What other stock V8 can go out and spin up to 7000RPMs for any length of time? And still be a solid, reliable engine? The LT5 is definitely a marvelous piece of engineering. 7K is getting near what Nascar V8's do which is I think around 8-9k rpms. Even though prices on ZR-1's are dropping low right now, once the economy turns around, these cars will go back up in price. Especially since there are only around 6900 in existance (probably lower since some have been totaled/wrecked). It's a unique, desirable car and that's what gives it value.

Re: Lt-5 singing !
He is shifting at 7300 and revving to 7700 so far! Corey is adding more fuel to the top end tune for the next run...so far 223 MPH! ON SALT!

Re: Lt-5 singing !
I'm sure he is doing it in 5th. 6th gear is too tall of a gear to run top speeds, its main purpose is for fuel economy. You would have to have massive torque to push top speed in that gear, its 42mph per 1000rpm in 6th I believe. If you could do top speed in 6th, you could theoretically reach 300mph!
