Default Jerrys LT5 Gaskets: Vacation

Just a heads-up. We are taking a little vacation for a couple of weeks, from 27 June ~ 10 July.

I won't be able to fill any gasket & seals orders received after 26 June, until I get back.

It's a special trip to Washington DC, to see the flag I was allowed to donate, being raised over the Iwo Jima (Marine Corps) Memorial on 1 July. It will fly for the month of July and then sent to me when it is replaced with another donor flag. I feel very fortunate to be able to participate in this program, as a former US Marine.

Neat Story of how this came about!

My sister & brother-in-law are going with us and will be in DC for the 4th of July parade & a few days more to take in the sights, to include the new USMC Museum.

Thanks to everyone for the fantastic support of the LT5 gasket & seals venture.

Wow. Enjoy your vacation and especially the flag-raising.
That will be one special keepsake when it comes back to you indeed.

The honor would be mine and the Corps, on behalf of the fallen, if any want to attend. When I know the time, I will post it.

Thank you....

Jerry,
let me know if you want to get together for lunch or dinner while you're up in dc. I'll be in nova this summer so a jaunt into dc isn't a big deal at all. I hadn't planed to be in dc on 1 jul but plans can change

Jerry,

Very cool. The Iwo Jima Memorial is awesome. An incredible visual.
Having been in DC several times, Vietnam War Memorial is the one
most moving to me. There's a quiet elegance to it that is so appropriate.
Love the WWII and Korean Memorials as well.

It's been a few years since I've been there so i haven't seen the WWII & Korean yet. Couldn't agree with you more about Iwo & Vietnam Memorials. The first time I went to see the Wall, I discovered that I wasn't going to be able to find the guys I knew who were KIA. I didn't know their real, full name. The Slovic guys had names none of us could pronounce, so we just called them "alphabet" or "ski", Indians were all "chief", and so on. There was never any disrespect & they knew it too. I could see faces, but couldn't find them. Hope they know they are remembered.

Thanks Ryan!
I served with a couple of Canadians. Even though they weren't US citizens, they volunteered. WOW!

Living and working in the DC area I've visited the Iwo Jima Memorial many times with out of town visitors. I will always remember the tribute inscribed on the base by Admiral Chester Nimitz to the fighting men on Iwo Jima: "Uncommon Valor was a Common Virtue."
