Re: New Injectors
Some of these connectors, if not all, are designed in a way that if you crack them with a pair of pliers (believe me they are so brittle it disintergarates once pressure is exerted) carefully metal prongs will survive with connection to the wire.
Once wire/metal prongs are intact, Fairfax Autopart (and some other I am sure) carries a plastic only portion where these prongs can be inserted from behind and will snap into locked position. For an example, 3 prong connector for IAC motor; Fairfax Autopart GM weatherpack plastic connector (no metal prong/wire) - $4+ GM weatherpack w/ wires to be spliced - $25+ 1st method is not only cheaper but cleaner looking. I suggest going through "white racing products" electrical section that shows use/connector type, determine what you might need, find a autopart store that carries assorted GM Weatherpack connectors and stock up before any work involving removal of electrical connectors. |

Re: New Injectors
Great info. I will use your idea about breaking the connectors off the wire. I think that there is also a tool that can be used to release each of the metal prongs from the plastic part. I will check with my local auto parts store for the weatherpack pieces.
Thanks!! Jim
