For those on the East Coast with the urge to stretch it out there is always the Maxton Monster Mile in North Carolina. The East Coast Timing Association has speed trials there five times a year. http://www.ecta-lsr.com/

I have a good friend with a Big Block 555 ci sonny leonard 91 C4 who ran 201 at the monster mile (on motor only) at Maxton

he said "it's a little bumpy" at that speed and he got a special 200 mph jacket

even the might TT ZR-1 only hit 191-192 in the mile so that's moving it!

how about we organize an east coast monster mile at maxton.

I think alot of folks would enjoy it. be be aware, you need to comply with the safety equipment!

fun stuff, love to try it sometime. but I agree, the iron A$$ ride to vegas and back home would be a bit too much for me.

glad you guys had a great time! sooooo..... how about a write up for the next newsletter, hint hint

I am interested in running at Maxton. I agree let's set up a ZR-1 outing. (Maybe my crummy 60-foot performance won't matter as much.)

In fairness to our bros who made it out west I will start a new Maxton Monster Mile thread.

Congrats on your run, that sounds awesome!

Sure had to be a great time , I too wish it was closer.. Marc did some work on my car but I could only manage 121.86/11.999 in the 1320 tonight
