Hi Mike,
Can you give us some more information on this car? VIN # or last 4 digits of the VIN. Does the owner have the original wheels, the original white top, what mods does the car have done to it? Exhaust, chip? Records available? Lots more questions, but I am surprised to see the engine in that shape at only 24k miles.

I have a '91 with 72k on the ticker and the left side of my engine has discoloration also, but nothing like this motor.

When you actually are going to purchase a ZR-1 be sure to post up here. There are a lot of people that will help you out and make sure you get a great car for your money.

That car is listed in the Registry Members section as belonging to (at one time maybe) Peter A. Celona and it was in Conn.

that makes sense, it has a 2003 Conn inspection sticker, my take is it hasen't been driven since than, and was left outside in the weather.

Mike,

How much were they asking for the car? This is the key here.

The motor finish can be fixed for $300 plus shipping to and from Washington. If the paint is in good shape overall, maybe a good buffing with a rotary and some 3M Perfect-It and then finishing with the Adams products would bring it back. If it is just trashed that's another story.

Take a look at some of my postings on the new car I just bought, #473 (they are in the Members Rides Section). It had 24,000 miles on it (the engine was filthy but beautiful) and it was in very sad shape. i spent about 3 weekends cleaning and about $400 so far fixing the secondaries (pump and solenoid) and other little things. Still have to replace the injectors too. Wish I'd had the money to buy Frank's RC's, I'll go with Accel's now though.

Good Luck with your search.

Hello Mike, and welcome to the forum.

If you printed out the information from the Registry webpage, you are one step closer to knowing what to look for when deciding to buy a KOTH. Keep looking in both the webpage section and the For Sale section of the forum(linked below);
