Default Samco air duct

I just recently received new Samco air duct. Looks great. I was just wondering if there is a small HP gain from the smoother airflow or does it just look good? Also ordered some samco coolant hoses. I've read it takes along time before they get to the customer. Is this true?

I have to say, I find it hard to imagine a HP gain. Smooth actually doesn't always equal good flow. Air won't flow in the ribs of the stock one, but probably flows through the center just fine, with a buffer of air around the ribs.

Did you have to trim your duct to get it to fit right?

I figured it wouldn't make any noticable gain, but still looks great. No trimming required. Ijust had to make sure clamp was in right position so it wasn't rubbing on the pully. Had to wrestle abit getting the SLP intake lined up perfectly but all went well otherwise.

That is good to hear. I received my air duct very quickly but as far as I know I haven't received coolant hoses yet. I'm away from home for another couple of weeks so hopefully they are home when I get there.

the purpose of the duct is not to add HP but to keep you from losing hp when the duct collapses
