Antenna Mast stopped retracting

I know this has been discussed before but my radio antenna mast stopped retracting yesterday (it is stuck in the up position). I would appreciate the recommended service procedure to fix or replace it.

If the motor still works (you will hear it) when you turn on and off the radio, you can replace just the mast. it comes in a kit for $30-$40, depending on where you get it. They come with instructions if you purchase one.
