Default tick sound at spark plug wire

buyer of my 91 zr-1 is getting a tick on cylinder #2 , seems to be coming from the spark plug area near cam cover. i have not seen it in person just going by what he is telling me. any ideas? he thinks it's a bad wire, wires have 15-20k miles on wires. coils and spark plugs about the same mileage. seems to happen after driving it for over 30 minutes
thanks
todd

Could be spark arcing to ground. Might be as simple as a loose spark plug wire. Pull the wire off and inspect it. Arcing will leave a trail a lot of times.

See what it looks like when running the engine in the dark. Any cross arking should be clearly visible

Ha Ha--good advice and it reminds me of one of my favorite long-ago cars, my '68 Hemi Roadrunner. Back in about 1970 the Hemi at one point was running a little rough and had lost some power. When I was doing some diagnostics I had it running in a somewhat darkened area and the sparks flying from the plug wires to the engine block were quite impressive! Replaced the wires and it ran like a champ. --Bob
