Hi, was the original question ever answered? Left and right identical? I need to replace mine and I checked the originals having different part #. Is it just because the connector of course has to be located different between left and right?
I'd prefer Monroe Max Lift pieces but the seem to be only available for left hand side. Can the connector be twisted in that case to match r/h side?

Hi Craig! I just got a set,$25 shipped. Now does anybody know of a source for the hood strut?

I got mine recently from Ecklers. The more expensive version. Comes without sleeve, you have to re-use the old one (so in case the orange latch is broken there comes no replacement with that one).
I just slightly brushed the glossy surface to match the matte black of the original sleeve.

From where? Also do you know if the rear defogger will work? I bought a set cheap and the reason why was the defogger would not work as they look to be electrically con deed but were not

Yes there is a left and right as the defogger connection is on different sides for left and right. I got these in the past, perfect.

I have also purchased the generic one that can be used for left or right, same part number. I had to change out the defogger connection from one to make it work on the other side.

I vaguely remember looking at the two ends to see the difference of left and right. All I know is the link in post #2 installs and work well with no issues.

Right, the different connectors are the issue. They're on top position on both sides so setup has to be mirrored. Rockauto (one of my best choices for deliveries to Germany) sells mainly left side struts. Maybe they can be modified to fit on r/h side, too.
