Huge loss for the ZR-1 and racing community. Tommy certainly lived life, doing what all of us wished we could do. He will be remembered as one of the icons of Corvette and ZR-1 racing. His narrow-bodied corvettes (#87 & #88) were testbeds for the King of the Hill, fitted with 400hp engines to simulate the LT5’s stresses on the existing C4 chassis under endurance race conditions.
In 1990, he and his team broke numerous World speed and endurance records, setting the ZR-1 up for a reputation that would become legendary. His winged ZR-1s and R9G race cars continue to race to this day, and dominate vintage racing. It is also due to Tommy Morrison that the ZR-1 community is represented in the Smithsonian Institute’s American History Museum. https://www.si.edu/object/nmah_1299489 You will be sorely missed Tommy Morrison

I find it difficult to think of most anyone more deserving than Tommy for the largest brick or bricks at the NCM from the Registry.
His contribution to the ZR-1 is immeasurable. Terrible loss. Marty |

I'm with you on the brick Marty think it would be a nice way for the registry to honor his contributions to the ZR-1. If anyone is near South Georiga Corvettes Aaron Scott was many puctures or Tommy during the World Record Run.

My deepest sympathy to Tommy's family. Tommy has always been a big hero of mine, and at the 2010 Gathering, I finally got to meet him. It meant a lot to me, as I actually got to visit quite a bit with him during those few days.
RIP Tommy ! ![]() |

My condolences to the entire Morrison family. I got to meet him at one of the Gatherings, when we had dinner at Jim Van Dorn's shop. It was always great to hear the stories those guys could tell.
