headlights
Hello...Earthlings: well...it's been awhile, I was trying to sell my car, no Bueno....so....I"m back, quick question, I turned on my headlamps, and now the car is winking at me. Makes me kinda proud, that the car wants to stay in my garage. so I spun those little knobs, to get the headlights to close. As those that know me, i'm pretty good with a diaper, but, I suck at mechanical stuff...NOW what ??

Re: headlights
As long as you have power to both sides, it is probable that your headlight motors are on their way out-- super common.
You have two choices; take the motors off and replace the internals as this is relatively cheap but a fair level of skill required or buy two complete motors and swap them out. This is more expensive but requires a "diaper level" of skill.

Re: headlights
What is most likely happening is Delrin bushings needs to be serviced. This is a common issue with C4 headlights.

Re: headlights
Agree with secondchance. The youtube video I found showed how to do one side, not the other. They were a little different.

Oh, no... sorry to burst those bubbles of optimism. Your only salvation is to come home to FBI headquarters for consultation, pizza, and expert diagnosis and cure!

Re: headlights
I found the pair of new headlight motors on ebay for $80/pr.
LED headlights are definitely the way to go. I believe that the GE NightHawks are supposed to be the best. They were $200/bulb on Amazon not long ago. But I just searched for them on Amazon and they popped up for $75/bulb. That's a pretty reasonable deal. The Chinese copies are only $90/pair, but I would shy away from those.

Re: headlights
I will bet it is the 3 little plastic bearings now turned to dust. Easy fix and I think the bearings are less than $10.
Mine went out at BG a few years ago.
