Have I made a sacrifice to the ZR-1 god?
I am installing my freshly bushed rear suspension dog bones. I dropped the 18 mm nut inside the frame. Have I made a small sacrifice? Is it retrievable? BTW my garage door is open and I am in short sleeves at 7:30 PM.

I am in my 70deg house, while outside it is -5deg with an expected high tomorrow of -16deg

Re: Have I made a sacrifice to the ZR-1 god?
So speaking of sacrifice.... I did the exact thing you did on the very last nut of course..... I tried getting the telescopic magnet down where it needed to be to fish the nut out.... no go, telescope wasn't flexible. I broke the last 3 inches off the telescope part of the magnet and used electrical tape to tape it to a very long zip tie.... Now I had a telescopic flexible magnet!! Worked like a charm!

Re: Have I made a sacrifice to the ZR-1 god?
I did the exact same thing replacing dog bones on one of WAZOO car about 4 years ago. I used either telescoping magnet or a magnet duct taped to a coat hanger to fish it out. Took a while... not an easy fish to catch.

If what you dropped is not steel...….the flexible pick up stick will work.

Re: Have I made a sacrifice to the ZR-1 god?
You may want to try a strong magnet to drag the nut to a spot where it can be retrieved. Its a BIG reason why b4 that nut is completely loose, I clamp a vise grip on it.

It was -22 when I got up this morning, not a good day for working on your Z unless you have a heater.
