I would recommend that even if you find a "new" one, that it be checked for proper operation.
My understanding is that age is more of a factor than use.
Marty's suggestion or Dr. Don will lead you to the correct conclusion.

Well I found some free time to perform some past due maintenance on my car.

New fuel filter, o2 sensors, and a vehicle speed sensor.

The CDM now works. I was told the VSS can effect the CDM if it is malfunctioning.

I will keep my eye on the CDM. Hopefully I am all good.
