Default Renovations to the new home for ZR-1

I finally got time to repair the new to me garage that will house two ZR-1's

The foundation had settled years ago, so I had to lift and support the roof and demolish half of the side wall.

That happened to me in one of my homes. Lucky the house was new but they had to Tear out the entire garage slab while the garage was jacked to keep it from pulling it down.

With that much work you should raise the roof to make room for a lift.

That is a good idea, a lift would be nice. But the garage is not really in good enough shape to be worth the effort. There are several other areas where the foundation settled. There are very few plumb or level parts of the garage.

wow Jim/looks like a earth quake hit it/good luck with the rebuild/just added 20 by 40 to my shop/need areas to park my friends race car/you missed a great bbq/but with a project like that and winter setting in I understand how important to get project going/our weather was great and finally cooling down here/hope you saw the photos Mark posted of the weekend/Cheers/joe

Here are a few more shots of the repair:

On the center column the 3 inch block is how much I raised the header to get the left opening level. The column on the right is all new construction. That side was raised about 4 inches:



Laying block. The jack columns and beam are supporting half the weight of the roof:



I still have to set the roof back down and adjust the garage doors. Then I can park a ZR-1.
