Default Tire problem with 315/35 zr17

We have a nasty problem in Germany with the 315/35 zr17 tires:
The only producer Vredestein has stop the production of these tires.
There are absolutely no more tires available for the back wheels.

I found the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 315/35 zr17 as alternative.
But this tire is not to buy in Germany.

My question: Is this tire normally availible in the USA ?

The answer is yes, they seem to be available here. Here is a link to TireRack's listing: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....m=135YR7F1GSD3

However Michelin makes 335 ZR17s if you can find them in Europe. They fit the ZR1. I had them on my 1995 ZR-1. If you are going for NCRS type judging of course they won't help but they are excellent tires. Good luck --Bob

Hi Bob,
thanks for Your answer and the link !

Unlucky to say so... the Michelin is aswell not availible here in Germany.
As I see, I'll have to by the tires in the USA and get them shiped to my home.
No cheap way ... but so far the only one.

Best regards
Michael

The sumitomos - I found in the net - are marked "W",
not the necessary "Y"

They will work in a pinch until you can find the tires you want. They are pretty cheap too

I bought my Goodyears from Tire Rack. Perhaps shipping from Tire Rack USA might not be too expensive.

I suppose another option is to change wheels. Wide tires are more easily available in 18"-19" sizes.

Good luck with your searching.

I will find a corvette-fellow in the the german corvette-forum

who regularly imports parts for us from the USA.
Tire Rack is may be the right adress to buy.

You might want to ask someone from the Bayern Corvette Club.

http://www.corvette-club-bayern.com

I was at their meeting in June and they all seemed to be very knowledgeable about where to find parts.
