A pseudo-legendary STD with a probable origin in East Asia. According to hearsay the malignant virus manifests many of the same symptoms as standard syphilis, but does so with alarming speed and terminality. Unfortunately, there is no known treatment or cures for Black Syphilis. According to fable, the tertiary phase of the disease results in the infected decay of one's genitals, and in men, will supposedly cause the penis to eventually rot off. Rumor of the disease’s existence first circulated among US military personnel occupying post-WW2 Japan in the late 1940s and later during the Korean War. The myth of Black Syphilis proliferated throughout the Asian world and among American military personnel during the Vietnam conflict, although strangely very few known bonifide cases have been medically documented. Today the disease is rumored to exist primarily in Thailand. In the American military, it is rumored that should a person contract the dreaded disease abroad that they would be forbidden from reentering the US. Stay out of the brothels in Bangkok! If you get the Black Syphilis they won't let you back home! |

Definitely a scam. FYI: my parents were just victimized by the "Grandparent Scam." Google it if you are not familiar with it but very similar except this is via phone call. It is going around so alert your friends and family, especially the elderly. An imposter called pretending to be my nephew who is currently stationed in the mid-East with the USAF. Needed help -- car accident -- broken nose, reason he sounded different. Needed $ for bail as he went to friend's wedding in Domincan Republic and got in an accident after having a couple of drinks and was jailed for DUI. Shhh... don't tell anyone because I'm too embarrased and don't want my parents to find out. My parents fell for it and unfortunately have learned a $4000 lesson.
