Jim, That is exactly what I did.

$20.00 for a micro rocker switch and two 4' leads. You have to love Corvette Central

Here is what I used. Two of them will fit inside the center consul by the rear glass release. I will get you a photo on Wednedsay when I get home if you are interested.

Robert,

Thanks, I'm interested. I hate how the car looks with the CB antenna up.

Didn't want to chime in and offend anyone but hey what the heck its just my opinion eh? I HATE the look of the oem antenna. First mod I did for both my c4s. lie under the back bumper behind the drivers rear tire.. .. using a test light with ignition on I found the power wire and snip. taped it up and done. Antenna all the way down, painted flat black and done. To me, the antenna looks awful and dates the car badly (along with the steering wheel and shift knob and stereo head unit) . It goes up crooked. If the leaning tower of Pisa looks straight to you then I think the antenna should be left alone Then again if you use the radio.. Not much choice but to use it.

No one should be offended by your own opinion. Your way is surely the quickest way. My way on the other hand took a few minutes:

In the bag in the storage room.........

Bought a plug to cap the top

I will admit when I did my stereo install I saw it all in there. If I had known I would have done this way ! Then again I don't want anyone turning this car back to stick it would be a crime !!

I upgraded the stereo in my 90 (why, I can barely hear it with the B&Bs anyway), but never listen to radio and was doing weight reduction back in those days. In my 95 I'm trying (trying) to keep it complete.
