Default Fuel Pumps

OK, so I had a 55 code pop up this past week and I checked the fuel pressure at the rail. I have 45 psi from the primary, and only 20 psi from the secondary pump. So it was time to yank them out.

I've been doing a lot of research on which pumps to get and I've seen a lot of negative postings on the Airtex pumps, both here on the forum and also on other websites.

What makes have shown to hold up well? Summit has Airtex, Delphi, and Carter pumps that list as compatible.

Also, Rock Auto has this Performance Electric Pump with strainer for $21.99/ea. http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/more...nid=479&jpid=2

Any ideas on these? I don't want to put in the pumps only to have them crap out again really soon.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the delightful insight.

There are many different makes of fuel pumps. I'm looking for recommendations on makes of pumps.

The ones from Summit and Rock Auto are listed as direct replacement as well.

I just found this thread using a bing search and it looks like that P240kc from Rock Auto will work pretty well.

http://zr1.net/forum/showthread.php?p=143461.

It's good to know someone used that one and was happy with it. This thread also didn't favor the Airtex pump...which was the first pumps I was looking at, but the reviews on them have not been very good.

Any other insight into the makes to use would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Thanks for the part numbers. Seems these part numbers change a lot. Earlier threads show part number EP 386.

I've also seem some issues with the AC pumps not having longevity, but a lot of those issues stem from AC Delco sourcing the pumps out to Airtex anyway. That's why I'm attempting to find reviews on the different makes, as there are many different brands to choose from.

Yeah, I had seen that thread and it was a really interesting write up. I'm not modded, so the stock pumps worked fine.

I saw that scottfab posted a favorable review on those Rock Auto ones I listed above and will probably go that same route.

Any other input would be really helpful.

Thanks for the replies.
