Hey Daryll,

It doesn't seem to be real clear exactly what extension I need...they don't seem to be "universal" and I'm seeing conflicting information. Would you happen to know exactly what I should order? I've also read that with OBX, you only need an extension for one side. (as opposed to SW headers, which require extensions for both sides) Can you or anybody else confirm this for me?

Thanks for your help!
Chris

Chris All I remember is you need one side for sure. Both depending on the header. I have Jeals and they were installed about 8 years ago and I havent looked back. Does OBX have the extension available.

I made my own extensions since the 91 vette uses a 3 wire heated O2 sensor. GM soon went to the more common 4-wire unit leaving a small market for 3-wire extensions.

you can search my name (mike100) and 02 extension and you might be able to find the list of parts on a post somewhere. I got everything at Napa, but I found some online sources for much cheaper weatherpack connector parts. You will need to buy the crimping tool though.

I did the search and copied my post. Everything you need to make your own:

I got tired of trying to find an off-the-shelf one and went to Napa to buy the kit to make your own. There was the additional expense of buying the crimping tool though, but the materials to make the harness were about $20 with no discount whatsoever at the parts store.

med gauge weatherpack pins:
Male Terminal-Napa 725150 (20-18ga)

Female Terminal- Napa 725151 (20-18ga)
http://m.napaonline.com/Tablet/parts...151_0312357060

weatherpack connector and seal- ? I lost my receipt, but a cheaper way to get everything is at Jegs it seems:
http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS-Performan...rentProductId=

As for wire, I had some decent 105 deg C 18 ga wire from scrap with teflon insulation. The crimper I got was this inexpensive unit:

You might buy a spare male/female pin from napa anyhow because you might screw up the first crimp figuring out the best way to work the tool.

There's likely a Fleet Pride near you and anything that you need in weather-pack you should likely be able to buy there if your NAPA doesn't have them. Weather-pack is still used in the truck-trailer industry for lighting so it should all be there.

Any truck/fleet parts supplier will have your needs. There should be no need for any kind of an "on-line" adventure.

Here's the Delphi Weather-Pack brochure and with these part numbers any jobber in the area can help you. Since you're doing extensions if anyone has the CPA go ahead and buy them also. All of the seals, terminals, connectors are in this brochure.

Great tip! I was gonna say there's no way they have those in California...turns out they got one down the street. I've lived here 11 years and never knew what that place was.
